Google Reader was great. I thought Google Helpouts was also a great product but I think there were liability issues. Thanks for posting this

ReplyDeleteThanks for the share. I'd forgotten some of those. To this day I miss Reader.
Mark Barrus - Feedly is a great replacement for Google Reader.
ReplyDeleteG+ isn't mentioned but this article is only about top 10 services. It's not shut down yet.
ReplyDeleteHangouts is not shut down yet either but its fate is, apparently, already sealed. Wonder what will replace YouTube Live HOA - if anything? - when the time comes.

ReplyDeleteIt will be interesting to see exactly what path they choose. Of one thing I'm pretty sure... no matter what it is called, Google will always have a way to provided recordable multiple participant, video calls to the consumer side.
I sure hope you're correct Andrew! Hopefully, they'll also keep offering some kind of a Live YouTube broadcast / panel / recording combo. It's still pretty much a unique service, especially considering the huge scale of YouTube.
