Recording a Slideshare presentation (or Powerpoint) in a Business HOA

Recording a Slideshare presentation (or Powerpoint) in a Business HOA
I just spent a frustrating few hours working out that I can bring up and view a Slideshare deck on both HVC and HOA, but when I view the HOA recording on YouTube there is only a picture of my face watching the Slideshare show!

Clearly this situation Ronnie was discussing some time ago still applies - https://plus.google.com/u/0/+RonnieBincer/posts/3cx3tfX2CQn

My question here is - Does Business Hangouts allow you to record a deck of slides (Slideshare or Powerpoint) via a HOA to a YouTube video, or will YouTube block it whatever route one goes??

  1. Sheila Strover To the best of my knowledge YouTube does NOT want recorded video in a HOA that is being recorded and will do all in their (considerable) power to block it. People keep trying to find a way around this... and keep failing. IMHO, it isn't worth the time or risk trying to outsmart Google. I just conceded and moved on.

  2. Hi Andrew Hatchett - not recorded video, but an BHOA recording of slides presented during the meeting.

Were your slides in the Upper LEFT Quadrant?

Remember the Upper RIGHT Quadrant is NOT recorded. That is why you can show a You Tube Video or HOA in the Upper Right while your BHOA is running in the Upper Left.

  4. Russ Worthington - thanks - I am just making enquiries, and have not myself hosted anything on BHOA. My only participation on BHOA has been as audience. So you could show a slide presentation in the upper right while discussing it in the upper left, but only the discussion would appear in the final recording?

This is my understanding. The Host of the BHOA controls everything, including what is in the upper Right, but only the upper Left gets recorded.

I have only been a participant in a BHOA, but have been in the User2User Community where this is talked about frequently.

    Good luck,
