YouTube Partner Program eligibility requirement update
Previously, for your channel to be in the YouTube Partner Program, it had to have 10,000 lifetime views.
Today that was changed so that you have to have:
* 1000 subscribers
* 4000 hours watchtime (240,000 minutes watchtime) in the past 12 months
If your YouTube channel is already in the YouTube Partner Program, but doesn't meet the new requirements:
* you should have received an email telling you about the change a few hours ago
* ads will stop displaying February 20th
* your channel should not lose currently Partner-only features like linking to external websites or live stream embedding

YouTube should have been much more upfront about this much sooner rather than have kept leading people on since November. After this how can YouTube ever be trusted again by anyone?
ReplyDeleteAndrew Hatchett do you mean with regards to the long application review times? I don't think that was meant to lead users on.
