  3. Cool Andrew Hatchett , thanks for your time to present these transitions, I for one did not know this was possible. Could be used in interview videos. What do you think Sheila Hensley?

  4. Just what I was thinking Bill Graham and Scott Scowcroft what are your thoughts?

  5. Sheila Hensley , these are traditional wipes and fades. My experience is that newbies will tend to over-use them, thinking they are cool. The results of course are that the resulting videos will look amateurish and not survive the test of time.

I mostly use fade up/down and fade through black, and then mostly to cover a jump cut. Occasionally I'll used a more aggressive special effects if there's a major change in topic.

Thanks for showing this, Andrew Hatchett. It's been a long time since I last checked out YT's editing capabilities.

  8. Interesting.
A question -- am I alone in having to turn my sound WAY UP to hear Andrew Hatchett, or is everyone experiencing this?

  9. Scott Scowcroft great input, thank you for your perspective, I might well have made the newbie mistake you mentioned.

  10. Bill Graham , something tells me even if you did start off making "newbie mistakes" (and we all do, don't we?), you wouldn't last there long. You'll soon catch on and will be editing with the best of us. :-)

  11. Barbara Quick  Because of the placement of my computer I have to record at a low level to keep from bothering my sister in the next room.
