Thought this would be of interest to the community. Should be rolling out today. Starting today, the photos and videos you keep in Google+ Photos will also be available in Google Drive

Sometimes, we use photos for practical purposes, like planning a wedding, remodeling a kitchen, or capturing meeting notes from a whiteboard. And, while you snap all kinds of pics, your experience across Google should be seamless and consistent. Starting today, the photos and videos you keep in Google+ Photos will also be available in Google Drive.

  1. OK- what changed?  It's been like this for quite some time.  I'm clearly missing something.

  2. Jaana Nyström  says, "*Update for Google+ Photos & Drive*

"You can view and manage your photos and videos in both Google+ and Google Drive.

You can optionally choose to create a Google Photos folder in your "My Drive", which will allow you to organize your photos and videos into folders.

And don't worry-- photos that you can see in both Google+ and Drive only count once towards your storage limit."

    Still rolling out."

  3. Terry Leigh Britton - I guess maybe it rolled out to us a long time ago.  I've had videos and photos in Drive for ages.  One of the blessings of Google+ - it's worldwide...One of the problems is...it's worldwide so we all don't always see the same things at the same time.
The recent changes to "photos from my phone" a/k/a autobackup have made my life miserable.
I've got my fingers crosses that we are in a transition stage with G+ and the recent acquisition of Odysee (photo storage company) and that those wiley guys at Google Headquarters have something awesome in store for us.  After all I just passed the 100K pictures in Picasa mark and would love a way to get all the "autoawesomeness" of google photos applied to my entire collection.

  5. Interestingly my photos were never in drive before but we're always in the photos section of Google plus, where I have been backing them up. Could be from the way I set up my phone originally. I actually always had wished they were in drive with auto backup
