Remove your YouTube or Google+ custom URL
You can now remove the Custom URL from your YouTube channel or Google+ Page or Profile.
Note: you may not be able to re-add the old URL, so only remove a URL you are positive you no longer want.
You can remove your URL up to 3 times per year.
Note: if you remove your Google+ URL this will break any links to your posts that use the Custom URL.
Removing the URL
1. Sign in to your Google Account and go to your "About me" page. http://aboutme.Google.com
2. Select the account with your YouTube channel or Google+ Page at the top right. You may have to click All of your Brand Accounts if your account is not in the list.
3. Find your current custom URL under "Sites" and click edit
4. Next to the URL you want to remove, click X.
5. Click OK.
Adding a new URL
If you're eligible, you can claim a new custom URL right away after removal, but it may take a couple of days before the previous custom URL stops directing to your YouTube channel or Page.
You cannot claim a new custom URL from the “About me” page. If you want to claim a new custom URL, you need to meet the general eligibility requirements and follow the steps on YouTube it Google+.

Thanks for sharing Andrew Hatchett. I doubt many people in this community would want to use this option, as it's mostly a benefit if you have changed your name.
ReplyDeletePeggy K I was actually very excited to see this as I thought my Kraaft Shaak page had an older custom url that shows up every once in a while. Turns out I had already fixed it. Lol (or so it seems)
ReplyDeleteAt least you got me to the place to look!!! I didn't know that.
Thank you for always having answers!!!
Heather Kraafter it's useful just knowing where to look for your URL, isn't it?
