Just a reminder from Spencer Wade

Google Security Checkup Time
Security, in all its forms, is important in an uncertain world. Online security, due to the internet’s eternal memory, is even more important. With a rash of cyber-attacks in the headlines, and more and more vulnerabilities uncovered on a daily basis, it’s probably a good time for a security checkup. Thankfully, Google has made the process simple as far as their properties are concerned, so, with just a bit of effort, you can be as secure as possible and that’s always a good thing.
All you have to do is go to the My Account Page and look underneath Sign-In & Security. In case you didn’t know, this is where you can make changes to your account’s settings related to signing in and security – like your activity and recognized devices. Directly under this area is the Security Checkup box. All you have to do is click on Get Started.
Once you enter, the Security Checkup will proceed through four criteria: Recovery Information, Connected Devices, Access for Less Secure Apps, Account Permissions. Each one will present you with a set of data points that you can change, delete, or add to depending on your preferences. You’ll be shown all the devices that have accessed your account and be given the option of removing apps you’re no longer using. It’s a great way to ensure your up-to-date across the board and make necessary changes in one convenient location.
When all is said and done, you’ll be given the green check mark and the peace of mind that comes with knowing your Google properties are safe and secure. It’s a good idea to change your password often, even for sites you rarely use, and try to minimize using personal information that could be discover-able in other ways. There’s no perfect way to safeguard against threats online, or in real life for that matter, so it’s important to maintain control over what you can at all times. After all, it’s the least you can do to protect yourself.
