Sharing with the community - first in a series of interviews with small business owners.
If Your Ship Has Come In - Swim Out To It
In this series of interviews I speak to owners and entrepreneurs about the challenges of staying on top of their online presence while continuing to run and build their businesses.
Jodi Okun - College Financial Aid Advisors opens up for a chat about her business building journey, how she stays focused and some of her plans for the future as she learns more and more about her digital footprint. (14:10)
Jodi and I had never spoken - this was our first meeting. It was exciting to record as we got to know each other. We both felt a connection as we followed each other on +Google+ but comments
were as far as we'd gotten.
She said yes when I asked for the interview, took a chance and trusted me. I appreciate that for the compliment it is. I'm totally honored and thank you so much Jodi!
Look over Jodi's left shoulder in the video. On her wall you'll see.
If Your Ship Has Come In - Swim Out To It
I liked that a lot and I think you'll love Jodi. Leave us a comment if you do. We'd both be thrilled to hear from you.
A very special shout-out to one of my Team Members, Mr. Scott Scowcroft - The Scott Treatment. I thought there was just one small audio fix that I needed on this video. I sent it to Scott for "TST - The Scott Treatment" and he made our video perfect.
He is a magician and master video/copy editor. Thank You Scott!

Thanks for the plus mention and shout-out, Sheila Hensley . It was fun hearing Jodi's story, and I think you did a masterful job in interviewing and bringing her out.
ReplyDeleteThanks Scott Scowcroft Jodi Okun is now forcing teaching me to use Twitter due to the conversation in the video. What did I get myself into??? However, she's awarded me three stars for changing my banner, tweeting and I forget what the other star was for. I now must teach her to do HOAs - which as you know I love to teach. :D
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Sheila Hensley . After an 8 year absense, yesterday I opened a new Twitter account myself.
ReplyDeleteSmall world.
Too cool Scott Scowcroft! Now Jodi Okun can teach us both a thing or two. :D
ReplyDeleteCue music Scott Scowcroft :)
ReplyDeleteHey Jodi Okun your/our next project is a video tutorial. On your channel with you running the whole show. I guess I forgot to mention that with all the comments coming in on your interview. Be in touch soon. :D #OZ
ReplyDeleteOh man - I was hoping you forgot :) darn #OZ

ReplyDeleteThank you Mark Barrus good to meet you :)
ReplyDeleteGreat interviews Sheila Hensley with both Jodi Okun and Gail Johnsey. I want to get started myself doing similar interviews in just a few short weeks once I move away from the airplanes. You have inspired me. Thank you for that.
ReplyDeleteThank you Bill Graham. So glad I've inspired you. It only took me a year to get my first one done. :) Now I can't stop. Will be posting another soon.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to more from you Sheila Hensley. I too have been procrastinating for too long, it's time to "get ur done".
ReplyDeleteWant to interview me to practice? You can go through the whole process and then delete. Be happy to help. Bill Graham
ReplyDeleteWelcome Jodi Okun know that you are among friends that care about your happiness and success in your endeavors
ReplyDeleteMy friend Sheila Hensley my apologies to you for not acknowledging your wonderful offer to help. I am just realizing now that the offer was extended, I do appreciate it and would love to hangout one day, interview or not it would be an honor. I will look forward to talking to you and setting up a time.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mark Barrus
ReplyDeleteWouldn't that be lovely Bill Graham. It will help me practice looking at the camera, NOT blinking every 3 seconds and all the other things I see I'm doing wrong and want to change. Practice does make you better. The only time I can't hang with ya is Sat. Pick a time and let's do it.
