I know that many of you here are social media gurus and will be able to point me in the right direction.

I know that many of you here are social media gurus and will be able to point me in the right direction. My sister is getting ready to publish a book on Amazon and is seeking assistance in getting set up on social media. Anyone know of trustworthy persons that provide that service?

  1. Hi Lon McClure hope all is well. When you mean "getting setup", how involved does she want to get?

  2. Dunno, Mark Barrus . I imagine that will be part of the conversation. I don't know the correct questions to ask.

  7. She isn't fully on G+ yet so she can't join User2User (no profile pic etc). She's just starting out with social. What with the book publishing, a full-time job, and family, I don't want to rush her into any more than she needs right now. She's not even set up for HOAs.

  9. +Lon McClure, You might get in touch with Charlotte Pierce. She's Interim President of Independent Publishers of New England and a member of User2User. I'm sure she would have some useful information for your sister.

  10. Lon McClure I am sure she has already read the reference book on the subject, called APE, by Guy Kawasaki. Well there is a very active G+ community around that book, for authors & publishers, run by Guy and Peg Fitzpatrick:  https://plus.google.com/communities/115977401813171258800 . She can join, learn and ask for assistance or ideas, etc.

  11. Lon McClure +Depending where your sister is located, my organization, Independent Publishers of New England, serves the 6 New England states, and our affiliated national organization is the Independent Book Publishers Association, headed by Angela Bole. Both organizations are great places to start getting reliable resources for independent publishing. If you want to ping me, I can give you more specific referrals. Good luck to her, and power to the Indies!

  12. What a diverse and special group we have here!
Independent Publishers of New England  - Michigan is where she currently resides. Is there a group that services that state/region?

  13. Wow, Mark Barrus  and Independent Publishers of New England  (and of course Andrew Hatchett !) - what great resources you are here.  Thanks Lon McClure  for raising the subject on behalf of your sister.

  14. Apologies for not keeping up with this post. My life is crowded with the details of selling my house, packing, job-hunting, logistics of a probable long-distance move, shedding 20 years worth of accumulated "stuff", etc.

So, enough excuses! Thank you all for chiming in! I've passed all of the suggestions on to my sister and also have encouraged her to update her G+ profile and join User2User-LIVE! [The Page]  and other suggested communities.
