In addition to the youtube notification I've chosen to receive from my subscribed channels, I've recently started receiving "unwanted" ads/notifications from some pretty bad players. I've attached a screenshot that is suitable for viewing here. Most are sexually oriented. If I click anywhere on the notification, it opens the site (researchcodes.com in this case). Clicking the cogwheel opens the site. Clicking the X opens the site. I am unable to add this URL to my banned sites in notifications.
1. Has anyone else experienced this?
2. How do I make it stop?
Any suggestions from the community. I've looked all over YouTube for a way to ban the notifications and sites to no avail. I've checked Gmail and G+ notifications and found nothing to help.

Am I understanding you that these are YouTube notifications seen when you go to your channel?

I get those types from some communities I belong to but have never gotten them from Youtube itself.

  2. The only time they come up is when I get a YouTube notification from someone else - which is the only reason I think they originate from YouTube.

  3. Would YouTube personnel Peggy K be of some help here?

  4. I've never seen one like that myself. What are the options if you click the gear on the Notification?

  5. Clicking the gear wheel and X to close automatically opens the URL Peggy K and I'm unable to block the URL when I try. This is one I can share. Next time I get a really gross notification, I'm going to get a screenshot and report. If you've never seen it, then it is something new.

  6. Sheila Hensley do you see those if you disable all extensions? If it were a legit YouTube notification clicking the gear would lead to settings.

  7. I agree Peggy K, I have not disabled all extensions but will try that, thanks. If I could simply block the URL, I'd be good to go. They all come from that Url.

  8. Sheila Hensley is it possible you could have inadvertently enabled notifications on that site?

  9. No, Peggy K I wish it was that simple. I'll carefully record the next one so I'll have more reference information. You know how when you are subscribed to a channel and you get a notice that their live in 30 minutes - that's when these happen. Never at any other time and only on two channels I'm subscribed to. Indeed, it's a mystery.

  10. Wonder what platform they are using to livestream??

  11. ok- if notice is that they are going live then either they themselves are posting the notice or they have scheduled a livestream and you are getting some kind of calendar reminder from somewhere.

  12. It's not a notice that the spammer is going live Andrew Hatchett. It just happens when I get notifications from two others. It's almost like they are attached to those channels notifications. They are always advertisements.
