'UHD Alliance' finally decides what 'next-gen' video actually is (Wired UK)

UHD Alliance' finally decides what next-gen video actually is
The UHD Alliance industry group has announced exactly what specifications a TV must have to meet its Ultra High Definition Premium standard (WIRED.co.uk).

To bear the new UltraHD Premium logo, a screen has to have a resolution of at least 3840 by 2160 pixels, with a display reproduction capable of 90 percent of P3 colours and a 10-bit signal for colour depth.

The UHD Alliance is made up of 35 companies including Dolby, LG, Netflix, Panasonic and Samsung.
