I see that Business Hangouts no longer has a free version. Too bad.

  1. I agree. I wanted to try it out with a genealogical group before moving to perhaps a paid version, sadly that is not possible -:(

  2. Julie Goucher You could try the lite version for $19 for a month as they offer a 30 day money back guarantee. The free version was somewhat limited in what it could actually do most of the really fun stuff wasn't functional in it.

  3. Growing pains. Bottom line. Too bad as the free version is what convinces many to try a service and eventually buy. I like that model better than the pay-now-refund-later.

  4. Oh, I'll still look into it once I've got past tax time here .... and a move as well!

  5. I can still view the Hangout on Air for free right? I can't see how a paid version would help to get more viewers. Besides you can view the broadcast for free on YouTube after the live portion is over and it's made Public. Isn't the paid version for participants?
So if your not in a business and paying for the service as a business expense this is not a good thing.

  6. Craig Long, only the host needs a Business-Hangout account-viewers do not; but it is up to the host as to deciding if the event will be free or a fee paid to attend and watch the event.. That is one of the beauty ot it- it is so easily monetized.

  7. Andrew Hatchett Oh, thanks. So I don't have to worry.

  8. Less people hosting will be the end result here.

  9. Craig Long Participants in the film strip can, with Host's permission, do presentations and only need a Google account but a Host must have a Business Hangout Account to do the setup of the event, etc.

  10. With the paid version are you able to do the Hangouts On Air Live Seems like it was the business version I was looking for to schedule a repetitive show and scheduled events
