Interesting Andrew. Although it's a bit tedious, it makes a lot of sense. Ultimately, having YouTube comments saved from live events is optimum, but until - and if - that ever happens, your suggestion may be a workaround. Thanks.
Hi Lowell Ann Fuglsang, that s also an alternative. Right now I'm just looking at how many alternatives there may be and which may be best for certain use cases.
The new ability to put pictures in comments to posts intrigues me. It could prove very useful in some cases.
It's hard to let go of G+ as the home for our broadcasts as that is where the communities were created and continue to live. However, putting the comments where the video lives makes more sense going forward using the communities to direct viewers to the events on the YouTube side. In the end (if there ever is an end) it will be a better product for the largest body of users/consumers as that is what it is all about (big picture).
These are nice comments here at the side of the video when you play this video. Andrew Hatchett Is this called the lightbox? You could copy these comments, the ones in the lightbox.
Andrew, Thank You for the Post. Good Thoughts

ReplyDeleteWhy not just keep the comments open during the broadcast, then copy the comments and then post them under the video after the broadcast is over?
ReplyDeleteReally appreciate your experimentational efforts Andrew

ReplyDeleteThank you Andrew Hatchett for all that you put into this so far. There is a solution I'm sure.

Andrew Hatchett Oh, this is not a YouTube video I guess. No way to get a live event into the lightbox.
