I think I will experiment with the free version of the exporter into Blogger. Just because I have to keep everything and can't throw anything away it seems.

First post in a series, on how to capture and export your Google+ content.
An upcoming post will deal with how to transform and import that content onto a new platform.
Time is ticking and the deadline for exporting is looming closer every day. The current word is that some of the G+ APIs will disappear already at the end of January, while the service itself will shut down at end of March.

Oh good Mark Barrus. Love to know how it works for you.
ReplyDeleteI’ve played with this and the Google Takeout. The exporter mentioned in the blog post works really well. One question I haven’t resolved is the best way to download the actual image files (the exporters just download links to images as far as I can tell - those links will be dead once G+ goes away). The answer is likely out there somewhere but I haven’t run across it yet.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lon McClure. I appreciate hearing about anyone's experience and I'm hoping someone will hit on the right special sauce that works.
