You've wanted to save your G+ Community/Collection...
Well, from what people I trust are saying, this looks like it works!

I've updated the G+ migration tool to let people add and remove +1s on posts.
Here's a live example:

You need to sign-in first, to link the +1 to your Google account when recorded in the database.
This is just an example to show that this kind of G+ data export could be used as a real, live copy of G+ and not just a "read-only" archive.
The problem with exporting an entire community is that really before you import it anywhere, you should get permission from the people who posted to use their posts. If I post in a community on Google+, I haven't given permission for my post to be reposted on another platform.
ReplyDeleteIn small communities like this one it is doable to get everyone on board with a move. In big communities, probably not.
And so I doubt Google would ever provide other people's posts in a format where they could easily import the content elsewhere. Your own posts, I'm hoping they do.

ReplyDeleteI agree 100% about other people's content going on to different sites. One reason I'm not trying to save anything from my G+ communities/collection - just trying to find a new home for future stuff. :)
Peggy K that would be the same if it worked for profiles - as indicated it might - as many of my posts are shares of others. Never thought of it this way so thanks for the clarity!
