How does one access Hangout On Air from mobile? How does one access Business Hangout from mobile?
I have tried going into Chrome and using hangout.google.com/on air but I get taken automatically to Google Play Store that shows that I already have the Hangout App. No way to access HOA from the Hangout App.

Sorry Lowell Ann Fuglsang but when it comes to mobile devices I'm a complete Luddite. Hopefully, one of the other members will be able to help you.

1). As a viewer?
2). As a filmstrip participant?
3)? As a host?
I believe that will play a role in getting you the correct answer to your question.
Lowell Ann Fuglsang you can't initiate a hangout on air (HOA) from a mobile. You have to start them from a computer. For hangout video call you can initiate those from a mobile. If someone with a computer starts the (HOA) you can join one using a mobile. You just can't start one with a mobile. I hope this helps you.
ReplyDeleteHangout Video Calls are available on mobile AND at the hangout.google.com website. HOA's are different. As far as I can remember, we have not been able to START an HOA from mobile. You can answer an call from an HOA

ReplyDeleteto start a plain regular HOA (not BHOA) from mobile - it can be done, but is not easy - you must go to the browser on your mobile and access YouTube from the browser - NOT THE APP.
ReplyDeleteOnce there, navigate to the LIVE EVENTS area and then initiate a "live event" which is the same as a HOA. NOT LIVE STREAMING.
This is possible but not at all easy as you have to continually increase the visual to see what you are clicking on and so on. By doing this you are accessing the HOA from the YouTube side through the browser (desktop version) on your phone.
Best to use a laptop, Chromebook, or desktop. ;)
Thanks all. I knew one cannot start a HOA from mobile. Just couldn't find a way to view as participant. Finally found it! Events shows up in the G+ app. I had assumed it would not be available there since all the separations.

ReplyDeleteBHOA is an APP - Hangouts on your phone is also an app - you can not use two apps at once.
You can watch a BHOA as a viewer on mobile and will see the things you should as the host allows.
You can participate by being invited to join the hangout through the link in the browser bar to be in the filmstrip - however you will not be able to see the chat or choose cameras. Your experience will be without the BHOA app.
