HI Everyone.

HI Everyone. I usually do google plus hangout live interviews on my iMac and i switched to my laptop and did test call tonight and had terrible reverberation - can anyone advise? I also got new microphone but took it off to just do via computer so not sure that it's that either. thanks in advance.

  1. If it's a Windows computer check your "Recording devices".  Maybe "Stereo Mix" is on?  Check your microphone "Properties".  Go to the "Listen" tab and make sure "Listen to this device" is not checked.

  2. Hi, Steffi. I was wondering about definition and timeline...
By, "reverberation," might you mean, "echo" effect? ... sort of a repeating sound? If so, this may be caused by a basic feedback effect common to hangouts. Most of time this is solved by using headset or earbuds, and,as you were considering, a mic' upgrade. Either way, if you could hear sound without help of earbuds or headphones, feedback is often the result. Laptops often have default setting on their built-in devices which make them difficult to control. All this set aside, Hangouts are notorious for manifesting difficulties, which has led to the mysteries of computer and hangout "gremlins." Hope you can it ironed out. All the best.

  3. I have noticed an echo taking place in many cases all participants have headphones on but there still is an echo in the first few sentences of chat. It tends to fade away as the noise suppression software takes affect. I am just stating what I have found to happen for me.
if you keep going does it persist? or die off?
