I'm trying to locate the best device to interface/convert my Sony EVI D100 camera as a second video source for ManyCam. Has anyone found a reliable converter that (a)connects via USB 3.0 (b)is compatible with Windows 8.1 ? Aside from the excellent video output, I really like the position presets and quick auto-focus/zoom capabilities of this device.

The previous converter I had worked well on Windows XP but does not work at all on Win7/8. Two others I have tried work okay on WIn7/USB 2.0 but not at all on WIndows 8.1.

  1. Lon McClure I've no personal experience but I know John Brown and Terry Leigh Britton are interested in this area so maybe they'll chime in.

  2. Does your camera have a HDMI out?  If so there are great HDMI Converter cards that works well.  I use one as a matter of fact.  It is great.

  3. Nope. RCA video and S-Video only. I wish it had HDMI!

  4. I sure will let you know if I find a way, John Brown .  Beginning to look like this camera won't be a good solution. I just had it laying around and thought I could put it to good use. I had planned to use the remote for PTZ and position presets. I'll wait a few days to see if anyone comes up with an affordable method to use this camera with my current setup. If not, off to ebay it goes!

  5. I've tried a few of these devices, John Brown with no success on my current laptop (HP Envy i7 12GB Win8.1). I was hoping to find another user that had already solved this but it looks like I am to be the guinea pig on this one. It's a beautiful camera with great lenses, zoom, etc. I hate to give up on it but that may be the most economical solution in the long run.
