Hello User2UserLive I have a question: I need to feel a little clearer when I want to promote an interview if I should do the following: create an event and share with public and then plan a hangout too which gets shared with public as well. Does that mean people get two notices? Basically, what is the difference between creating an event and planning a hangout in terms of promoting an interview you are going to do. Is it too much to do both? I don't want to bombard people with notices of an upcoming interview. I just want to sometimes give notice ahead of time and wasn't sure if I just did 'plan hangout' or if I should create an event too. Any feedback is appreciated.

Could explain just what you mean by "plan a hangout" vs. "Create an event"
ReplyDeleteIf you want folks to watch a finished, edited video...then there is a different approach.
If you want folks to come and be live and see the interview live...that is different approach as well.
The key is this...what do you want the participation of the audience to be? We will help you get there if we know that.
Steffi Black Personally, I wouldn't have both an event and a hangout for the same thing as I think it could be confusing for the viewers (and yes - they would get two notices)
ReplyDeleteRemember- you can set up your hangout far in advance and promote it for weeks or months ahead of time. I've set up a Christmas Party hangout for December 25, 2030 - but won't start promoting it until Dec. 1, 2030. ;)
thank you Heather Kraafter Andrew Hatchett it is about promoting a live event beforehand and I created an event today but in future I will just do the hangout and promote it that way so it is not confusing to viewers. I appreciate your prompt response.
ReplyDeleteI think it depends on who your potential target audience is. If you are promoting just on G+, then for sure just do a G+ event OR even better create a post that you attach the YouTube video in a community and share with the public.
ReplyDeleteIf you have many other platforms, I suggest create a hangout on air on YouTube. Almost everyone knows how to get to YouTube and watch.
Or if you want traffic to your website, then embed the YouTube video on your website or invest some money on embedding business-hangouts or webinar jam and embed it on your website since they include commenting.
Thank you Michael Daniels for taking the time to share the information. It is very helpful.
