Craig Long Thanks for sharing this!
ReplyDeleteSo whats this mean more changes to learn before I get started once again lmao
ReplyDeleteArthur Morehead This is a 3rd party app that you don't have to use to do a Hangout on Air.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing Craig Long. Just tested and it works great in both directions and comments transfer almost instantly. It appears that the comments are still lost on the YT side after the event ends but all comments remain in the Unified Chat. This will save those using Unified Chat from opening another window to monitor two comment locations.

ReplyDeleteBut does it effect YouTube Live that I need to know about to do my streaming and of broadcasting?
Thanks for testing this Bill Graham It would certainly be nice if YouTube would also save the comments. The developer is communicating with us (he +1'd this post). Perhaps real-time comments would also be nice and I can ask him if that's possible.
ReplyDeleteNow you can share the link to the Unified event so people can see the video and also the chat comments. I would like to see them as they are posted in real-time which may happen someday.
Arthur Morehead It works equally well for the Custom Live Event as it does for the HOA.
ReplyDeleteYou cannot see the saved chat from YouTube. You must go to your Unified Chat Chatroom to see the saved YouTube Chat comments.

ReplyDeleteUh oh so how does that affect my communifications for my YouTubeLive shows? Will I be able to communicate with others like before on Hangouts On Air?.......wait for it......
Arthur Morehead This makes it even easier to communicate with the Live chat in YouTube. The chat is connected to the HOA window which makes it easier to follow.
ReplyDeleteFor HOA you do this:
Create an HOA event. Open event hangout. On the HOA interface put this: "&gid=231331853758" at the end of URL in address bar and press enter to reload hangout with UnifiedChat extenson installed. Create a new chat room or use previously created one to obtain a UnifiedChat website URL.

ReplyDeleteBut to actually to talk to others Live face to face is now gone?
Arthur Morehead No, HOA is the same. This is just for the text chatting, not the video chatting. Unified Chat refers to unifying the text chat.
ReplyDeleteCraig Long Wheww thanks for clarifying that it had me nervous there. Its just all so confusing any more. I need to go rest my brain again (maybe I'll just go soak my head) lmao
ReplyDeleteArthur Morehead :)
