I haven't shared this in a long time !

This opens a file in the right dimensions for various social media banners, profile pics and background pics with a single click into the free Pixlr Editor. It has a tutorial video on the page also:

It probably could do with several corrections to the sizes, so if you spot any wrong ones, please let me know so I can make the corrections! (I have pretty much ignored this page for the last two years, but the domain renewal notices came to me and reminded me!)

It is pretty handy! Just remember to load pictures as LAYERS from the layers menu rather than using the file menu and you'll "get it". :-)

Spring Win10 Update broke a few things.

Thanks to someone who I helped in the past (Cat Chronicles) telling me about this: you need to manually update OBS Studio to get the version that works with the latest Win10 update. Auto-update is broken by that update, as is some aspect of DirectX compatibility. (Not sure if it is the Direct3D Rendering engine, but I didn't get any "BAD" responses from the Live Control Room today, whereas I have all week from using OBS Classic.)

I did not do a show today because I didn't know OBS would need this.

With the new update, if you have EVER turned off access to the microphone and/or camera by ANY app in Privacy Settings, you will find after the update that access is turned off entirely to both by all apps.

The fix is easy - in settings search out "Camera privacy" and "Microphone privacy" and turn on the very obvious switch. However I was caught by surprise by this, and could not broadcast today's show since I could not get audio from Voicemeeter into OBS to do the stream.

This was all I needed to know! Hope it helps!

My nice shiny new channel I erected for the live music shows has been stuck at 44 subscribers for two weeks now! That seems so odd, since the views are actually blowing me away, as I didn't expect this many so fast.
(1748 views as of writing this - just recorded 29th video.)

I post the finished videos to G+ and Facebook daily, and Andrew posts the upcoming shows (THANKS!!!) but it isn't getting subscriber traction. Is it because people see it is a daily show and don't want to be bothered with daily notifications? (They needn't turn those on, of course.)

I am experiencing the oddest thing.

I am experiencing the oddest thing. All my "Upcoming Streams" on my channel show me the date as if I was in California PST showing the start time as 9:30 AM (I am in North Carolina EST).

Yet the dates were properly entered in the Events page as Eastern -5 GMT, as seen in the second picture below.

Does YouTube think I (the channel owner) is in PST? If so, how is that changed???

I'm starting a new music performance series, but am on the fence whether to use this new music performance YouTube...

I'm starting a new music performance series, but am on the fence whether to use this new music performance YouTube channel I've erected, and start from scratch building the audience and subscribers, or keep the music stuff on my main channel.

The issue I'm troubled by is that my current subscribers mostly are looking for tutorial videos, and this series is intended to be a daily music program, so they'll be getting notifications for a type of programming they may not want to know about (and possibly will unsubscribe).

Which way should I go with this? Any opinions?

This site has many tests, including speedtest, quality, and others. Test multiple times per setting and go with an average

Select a default test from the dropdown.
Select the country you want to test to/from.
Select the state/region to test.
Allow the Java to load. (You will need Java installed...)
Click "Click to Start test" in the upper-left corner of the graphic.
Marvel.

Try the other tests on the right sidebar. You will be amazed how much the quality test differs from the speedtest in most cases. It is a truer test metric.

There is a test limit of 10 test per day, per location. Once 24 hours has passed testing will become available again.
