Help I'm Livestreaming now at EPA Water Technology Innovation Cluster Leaders Meeting from Pittsburgh, don't have a way to test whether sound, video working, and whether people can type in chat box. Could someone please go to the site and type in a comment, and let me know what you see? I have other cameras I can use if this it spotty although, from my end, it looks like the built-in video camera was working as well as the 920 and other attachable camera I have (I just switched to the 920). Note: I am NOT looking to start a hangout (and please don't call me to start one - will interrupt my current hangout) - but looking to see whether you cen see the embedded hangout and comment on the chatbox below the video. Today I got a call from the head of the EPA water innovation clusters and she wants me to come out to Pittsburgh to provide online access to their meeting of cluster leaders! WOO HOO! John Brown Andrew Hatchett hopefully I can test some of the tweaks we discussed last night after last week's online participation. I may be able to bring people into the filmstrip this time, and I'll moderate their networking and workshopping with each other during the breaks and breakouts, and/or bring over speakers to talk with the online folks. I already received the presentations in dropbox and they are all in PDF - do I need to do anything to a PDF to save it on a google drive if I do this on the Chromebook? Or do I have to have the presentations on a different computer and call that into the Hangout separately?

There was a post about updates in G+ that impact HOAs - do I need to download those updates on each computer I'm using (I was going to call in on at least 2 different computers with 2 different G+ accounts). If I need any support while setting up tomorrow morning at about 7:30 am EDT, will anyone be available here? Probably not the West Coast folks (nor John Brown in Hawaii!). Anything I need to do to prep before tomorrow's all-day coverage of Water 2.0 on Earth Day via HOA???

I'm not even sure what questions I'm going to have for Wednesday's all-day Hangout coverage of the Water 2.0 event on Earth Day in Washington, DC. I'm just glad you folks are here, in case I get stuck. I think I've done everything I can to sure this will work - other than getting attendees (I hope we get registrations). If anyone wants to get a complimentary attendance, please let me know - it's a great group of speakers on water innovations - and I could use all the support I can get. http://watercitizennews.com/highlights-of-next-weeks-water-2-0-available-remotely-or-live-in-dc/

I have the Logitech 920 set up, I think. Can test with ethernet in the morning (or just with wifi tonight) if anyone has a few minutes to jump on an HOA.
Has anyone tried WIRECAST to be able to switch between multiple cameras/mics on the same computer during a Hangout?
Has anyone tried WIRECAST to be able to switch between multiple cameras/mics on the same computer during a Hangout? Any idea whether Chromebook 2 Samsung will have enough muscle to run this? THANKS!

OK, I just did a test Hangout at the GE conference site with the new Chromebook to see if we can use this for a facilitated livecast for registered online attendees for a one-day event in couple weeks. As you can see from the screencapture, I'll need another camera. I've bought a couple before, but one of the biggest concerns I have (besides video quality) is these attachable cameras often don't hold onto the computer well - very unstable, very flimsy. I can't have a camera fall over in the middle of the presentation. Not too expensive - although I don't want to have to keep buying cameras that don't work. I need to order something ASAP (Amazon or Ebay) - the event is 2 weeks from tomorrow. Suggestions?

Great discussion last night!
Great discussion last night! Thanks for the recommendation to connect with Dennis Duce. I just found this HOA where he and his coauthor Jenn Foster review 6 weeks of HOAs on the content for their upcoming book on HOA Business Branding. Worth checking out (and it was a great chance to try out the 2x listening speed!). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ah4T99oYGJY#t=51

[INTRODUCTION] Thanks again for having me!
[INTRODUCTION] Thanks again for having me! My introduction and "story" is a bit in flux at the moment. WaterCitizen.Com is a media organization that has provided water news, education, and WaterTainment(TM) for people passionate about water since August 2011 (nearly 4 years!). Non-advocacy, non-partisan, non-siloed fun cool "sexy" multimedia stories on water-related topics, personal profiles, event announcements, and - increasingly - live online TV shows and livecast of live events using Hangouts. We're about to complete our tax application to become a 501(c)3 ("non-profit" - although we intend for all of our projects to be "internally profitable" to support our mission: elevate the water dialogue; improve the water communications infrastructure, and make water sexy!).
Personally, I (Cat Shrier - separate G+ profile) had worked for 20+ years in water planning & policy when I started WaterCitizen.Com, recognizing that more and more of my work was focusing on education, communication, and outreach or "inreach" (within and among members of the water community, not just "the public"). I had originally intended to create a nonprofit, but couldn't afford the IRS process & associated legal fees at the time (feel free to PM me for info on how that's changed), so tried different forms of for-profit media outlets. Switching over to a 501(c)3 will allow us to include more focus on cutting-edge approaches to water communications (including HOAs), with sharing and education of our results, and continuing our commitment to education (we've had dozens of interns).
I still didn't say much about me personally, did I? Sorry -a m focusing on WaterCitizen at the moment. I'll get my story up on my personal profile at some point. I will say that I have done a lot with the personal development space as well, and have certifications in coaching, NLP, and experiential learning facilitation, although I don't consider myself to be a coach and don't really plan to use that background much professionally, other than possibly Hangout-based Mastermind, which I love facilitating (see the photo of me doing a demo at the Water 2.0 event - with Meilani MacDonald and John Jurkiewicz in the filmstrip - and of a Mastermind I ran this winter - and one of a series of live hangout interviews I did during a conference last fall).
WaterCitizen is based on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.

[ETHERNET ADAPTER FOR CHROMEBOOK?] Really excited to join this group!
[ETHERNET ADAPTER FOR CHROMEBOOK?] Really excited to join this group! I've begun "pitching" Hangout-based coverage of live events in the water "space" and will certainly have questions. I just bought a Samsung Chromebook 2 last night, which should, I hope, resolve some of the issues I've had with my old computer (blurry hands, delayed response) with the processor dedicated to G+ and not Windows. One drawback: no ethernet. I'm told the internet is so good I won't need a hardwired connection, but I'd rather not take that risk. I see Amazon sells Ethernet adapters of various sorts (USB 2.0 or 3.0 and 10/100/1000 of RJ45 huh????) - some providing additional USB outlets as well. Any idea which I would need? Has anyone used an Ethernet adapter for hangouts with a computer than has not Ethernet port (e.g. Chromebook, Macbook) - does it make a difference? I didn't think this was the sort of question that warranted a live chat (although I can do that also) - hope it's an appropriate first post to the group?
