Has anyone tried WIRECAST to be able to switch between multiple cameras/mics on the same computer during a Hangout?

Has anyone tried WIRECAST to be able to switch between multiple cameras/mics on the same computer during a Hangout? Any idea whether Chromebook 2 Samsung will have enough muscle to run this? THANKS!

  1. I believe wirecast is downloaded, and you cannot download anything to a chromebook.

  2. WaterCitizen If you can't find it in the Google Store then odds are you can't use it on a chromebook/box running Chrome OS.Judging from this post ( https://plus.google.com/+CraigLong/posts/LurbVuitrWu)Craig Long may have some advice.

  3. Wirecast is available for Windows and  Mac. Not a chrome app. But to answer your question, Wirecast can run multiple cameras and multiple audio sources (mics, videos, camera mics, audio files, etc.)

  4. John Brown but not on a chrome book, since you can't download the software.

  5. That's what I thought I said Michael Daniels. Thanks for making it absolutely clear. You cannot download or run Wirecast on a chromebook.  Only available for the Windows or Mac OS platforms.

  6. I think these are all true statements.

I'm using Windows not Chromebook.  I'm not sure how to livestream from Chromebook except that you can use Hangouts of course.
Multiple sources and cameras can run on Wirecast and Wirecast won't work on Chromebook.

  7. Andrew Hatchett WaterCitizen    This is interesting and might work with Chromebook and HOA.  Just get a camera switcher and use on Hangouts.

  9. Thanks Craig! I'm going to simplify things for this coming event.

  10. Craig Long I've not had any luck getting my 1080i camera into a Hangout on Air because the resolution exceeds that of the Hangout 720 threshold. While the Livewedge switcher you linked to can "downscale" output to 720, one would still need a way to get its HDMI output into the host machine (like the other link you provided the Magewell dongle.)  Perhaps Andrew Hatchett or another chromebook user can suggest how external HDMI cameras can be integrated into the Chromebook.  None of the reviews of the Magewell I've seen mention chromebooks.

  11. John Brown Yeah I think Chromebooks are used when you want to keep everything simple anyway.
