I joined late last week as I was preparing for my 2nd HOA, and am grateful to be part of this group as I always seem to have new challenges pop up as I prepare. It is a great to have a place to go with questions, and for me to offer support when (if!) I know a potential solution. I look forward especially to joining a chat, but haven't quite figured it out yet. ( Iwill look right after I finish this post.)
My name is Melita, and I was inspired to learn more about HOAs when I was at a Wealthy Thought Leader event with Andrea J. Lee about 2 years ago. I was able to attend a few of her events, both live and via Livestream webcast. I thought how useful a tool that would be to help amplify the global conversation in my own area of expertise - sexuality & gender education.
However, when I looked into Livestream, it seemed like a cost prohibitive tool and it didn't really seem to work on mobile devices. (Has anyone worked with Livestream? I would love to know your experienced with it vs. HOAs.)
When I started looking into Livestream last spring, someone mentioned HOAs. I got VERY excited, and have been working with coach Denise Wakeman to learn more about how to use this fantastic (though sometimes glitchy) tool.
I have had the pleasure to not only conduct 2 HOA interviews, but also to webcast 2 workshops from the live Gender Spectrum conference from California to Mexico City in late July. 150 people attended the webcast, and 40 of them were government officials. (This exceeded all expectations, and I am hoping to be able to interview the team on an upcoming #Censored2Celebrated HOA to find out what the effect has been since we did this webcast.) At the time, it was a VERY big deal that so many people attended the webcast as violence against transgender and gender expansive youth has been a big problem in Mexico City.
I interviewed the couple - Isolda & Enrique - who made this possible, and made a quick video about it. (I am not sure how much to share in this intro, but this is one of the ways I think video & HOAs can be such a game changer in my field. Can you tell how excited I am about this!!!????)

My goal is to feature a wide range of guests who are professionally and personally celebrating the diversity of sexuality & gender, and are willing to have a "come as you are" conversation on a Saturday for 30 minutes. The webcast is free to all in order to expand the conversation using the accessible, global medium of #HOAs.

2. I uploaded videos and succeeded to start them. How can I re-start them a second time?
3. How can I upload more than 5 items and use them when their time comes? I noticed that items disappear from PLAYLIST when I have used them once.
4. The quality of moving pictures (text) was poor and even poorer the sound of the background music, also interruptions occured towards the end . Is there a way to have good quality?

QUESTION: What is the least-expensive (prefer FREE) way to get my G+ HOAs converted to #podcasts and upon which services/software should I rely? How steep is the learning curve? I have 9 episodes archived as MP4s and on Youtube which are video/audio and it has been recommended that I also create plain podcasts of the audio. Each video is one hour.
Ideas, referrals, experiences, warnings all welcomed. I have zero budget (still unemployed) but lots of time and somewhat good tech savvy (I can learn).

Voicemeeter allows two hardware inputs (or more in some cases) to be mixed with system sounds with slider control over each level, and some strip-based processing as well. Output to monitoring devices AND broadcast or recording software can be controlled for each input. Thank you for explaining Manycam. I have bought and installed it - and went into massive problems. There was no way to switch it off until I uninstalled it again, I heard that it does these things on Macs. I also wrote to support but didn't get an answer.
I would need a possibility to insert intro and outro in my upcoming show. Manually with screen share and Qicktime player it looks and sounds not really good. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you. Heidi

Hi, Michael Daniels , Andrew Hatchett , Rayne Dowell and the rest of the U2U LIVE brain trust. Got another conundrum.
Today I had a brand-new problem that shut down my computer during my LIVE G+ HOA:
Error Code: "Lvrs64.sys" with this message: "System thread exception not handled"
Some things I read claim this related to a Logitech 310 webcam-Windows 8 interface problem, but I have a Logitech 210 use OS 8.1 I was using OS 8 until last week, but I have never seen this error before.
I've been plagued by "bad pool header" for months and finally seemed to have conquered it by removing several programs/apps that had corruptions or incompatibility issues, only to have this happen.
I upgraded to Windows OS 8.1 about a week ago and this is my first HOA using that OS with this webcam, but I can't find anything online about that combo.
Any ideas appreciated. I HATE being kicked out of my own HOA! Feel free to share!
Today I had a brand-new problem that shut down my computer during my LIVE G+ HOA:
Error Code: "Lvrs64.sys" with this message: "System thread exception not handled"
Some things I read claim this related to a Logitech 310 webcam-Windows 8 interface problem, but I have a Logitech 210 use OS 8.1 I was using OS 8 until last week, but I have never seen this error before.
I've been plagued by "bad pool header" for months and finally seemed to have conquered it by removing several programs/apps that had corruptions or incompatibility issues, only to have this happen.
I upgraded to Windows OS 8.1 about a week ago and this is my first HOA using that OS with this webcam, but I can't find anything online about that combo.
Any ideas appreciated. I HATE being kicked out of my own HOA! Feel free to share!

We finally completed our first "real" interview for the blog and wanted to share it since Andrew Hatchett Michael Daniels Heather Kraafter and Sheila Hensley were so helpful in getting us comfortable with HOA. We've got some fun plans for this new video series and hopefully we can get to the point where we have a whole community of kids participating and asking questions. Thanks again for all your help!

Hello Andrew. I woke up this morning to find there was "unusual activity" in my account. I had to reset my password and use a verification code to be able to use my account. Hi Andrew, I saw you supporting Lisa yesterday in her course and for me several questions arose and I wonder if you can answer them to me:
1. In the first course session on tuesday the event was planned with business hangout, then changed. What reason would I have to use business hangout for such a course, which is mainly teaching up front?
2. The first session then was broadcasted via youtube. Is it normal for youtube events that the comments appear on the right side? Do they stay then forever on the youtube page?
3. For yesterday's event a link was sent out which took us again to Youtube. Then Lisa announced that it was a G+ event and I had no idea how to get to G+ from Youtube. Is there any way of switching from youtube to G+, any hidden link which would allow that?
4. I found the link in the internal chat and could switch to G+.
I wanted to post the link to the viewers on you tube who were disoriented by not knowing how to get there, but Youtube comments don't allow links. Does it mean that ONLY from G+ you can join a hangout?
5. On the G+ page was a blue button "join hangout", but clicking on it wpoeple said they ended up somewhere else or nowhere (I didn't try it out), . Obviously this was NOT a way to enter into the filmstrip. How come? Why is this button there in the first place? Any special way of setting up the event?
6. I noticed that Carrie was not aware of the people watching and commenting on YOuTube. Does Comment tracker collect ONLY the comments from G+? How can the youTube comments be visible to the entire audience, or at least to the hosts?
As I am planning similar events to Lisa's course I would love to know these technical things and what I need to be aware of.

Now that you can create polls in Google+, it's probably a good idea to understand some basic parameters and vocab. I found this helpful guide that details the difference between Polls, Quizzes, and Surveys (so you know what you're creating, and what you aren't).
