Hello

Hello
It's been awhile. Well okay it's been ages since I've been here.

It's been a host of things, most of them not to positive. My health, my mom's health and a basement remodeling project that has turned into The Money Pit. (I told Joan that anytime you start pulling away drywall there is no telling what you'll find.)

Anyways.

I got some good news yesterday. Zoom told me I can participate in their Beta testing.

Something to smile about.

Take care

Hero to One Individual at a Time

Hero to One Individual at a Time

One of our beloved has fallen. I wish I could provide more details, and if anyone knows more about how James Fierce passed, I'm certain they would be welcomed by those who need them for closure. Since I can't provide more than I know at this time, I just want to share a few of my special memories of his life.

Please feel free to share your own memories in comments or make your own post. Also, please tag others so they can do the same and we can heal together. I think Jim would have wanted that. <3

I'm sharing this particular video in remembrance of him because of the title, but really, every time we talked (in video or text) he was a hero to me.

As I've been pouring over our recorded times together I realized that I got my "I'm super excited" phrase from him. And I bet if you had any time with him, you picked up something special too.

About a year or so ago he started a Kickstarter campaign for someone in need of a bicycle and he wrote so persuasively and genuinely (as he was prone to do for others) that I couldn't not help. He was so grateful for what little I was able to give that he made me feel like I had provided the entire bike! That was Jim. <3

Last weekend I got my bike over to where I'm living and it's now my main mode of transportation. As I get used to riding in the hot Arizona sun, I've been reminded to be thankful as I think about Jim and his friend.

I'll be forever better for having been touched by our fallen hero. And in his honour, I want to remind us all to #GetBizy. <3

I am not sure if many in the community are aware but +Jim Fierce passed away recently. I'm not sure of any details but I was tagged in a message from Kristin Drysdale.

For those not familiar with Jim, he was the host of a show in the HOA days.

I considered him a friend and a colleague and he will be missed

I've been MIA for a little over a month. I'd like to tell you it wasn't by choice!

I've been MIA for a little over a month. I'd like to tell you it wasn't by choice!

It started with an "infection of undetermined origin" in my left leg. I'll spare you the details but it left sitting with my leg propped a nasty regimen of antibiotics.

Just when I thought it was safe to go in the water.................

I started coughing and wheezing and after a cotton swab shoved half way up a sinus cavity I was told: "You have Type 1 Influenza!"

After two weeks of feeling like I was fixing to die and one week of getting my energy back I am finally back to being me. I think, lol

I wanted to explain why I suddenly vanished. It wasnt intentional. Trust me. Anyways, I am back

If you are not using the new Google Calender you should give it a try. I'm really happy with the new settings menue. You don't need a graduate degree from MIT to understand it and everything is on one screen

Reaching out to see if anyone in the community is familiar with the Logitech Brio 4K webcam and what their opinion of it is. I am going to be doing some training videos for a client and it was recommended.

Thanks in advance

I am asking for some input from anyone in the community who uses Filmora for video editing.

I am asking for some input from anyone in the community who uses Filmora for video editing. I am a novice and was comfortable with YouTubes services until the stopped making them available to us. I thought I'd ask for some input or better yet alternative suggestions. A lifetime license is $60.00 and they do sell different plug in's that appear to be reasonable.

What say you?

A bit of help, please.

A bit of help, please. I can't figure out why half my head is blue and I've crawled down this green screen rabbit hole trying to figure it out! I am thinking it might be that I need to cover the chair. Thoughts please?

I have a question, or rather a problem.

I have a question, or rather a problem. I scheduled a live stream via YouTube and I noticed everything on my background was backwards. I know Toolbox used to remedy that issue but with it gone, what can I do?

Thanks in advance

A big thanks to User2User member Lon McClure.

A big thanks to User2User member Lon McClure. I filmed a video last week where all the slides appeared backwards! Lon was gracious enough to lend his expertise in correcting the video for me. I am grateful. It shows the power and the benifet of belonging to a community like this where we can help each other. Thans again Lon McClure

A ManyCam video from my Galaxy S7.

A ManyCam video from my Galaxy S7. Their recent update allows you to live stream from a device other than your lap top or desk top. The upside is the picture is clear and navigating between screens is simple. The down side is you can't set the viewing to private until after you record the video and have to do so inside YouTube itself. Second, you can't set a video title until afterwords either.

A few days ago I posted that Facebook didnt care for the way I was behaving and restricted my activities for 24. (The proverbial virtual slap upon the wrist.) The problem was I didn't know why and while they were quick to punish they were reluctant to share the "why" with me. I discovered this morning that they don't like it if you access Facebook live from an external application i.e. ManyCam.

Now I know and so much for convenience.

"You are restricted from "creating open graph actions" until Sunday at 6:43 AM!"

"You are restricted from "creating open graph actions" until Sunday at 6:43 AM!"

That's the message that greeted me when I logged into my Facebook account.

"Wonder what I did now!" That was my first thought.

So I did some virtual digging

Apparently, Facebook doesn't like you sharing things from outside sources, only they don't bother to tell you which outside sources they don't care for. If someone on the Facebook team deems your post suspicious, they'll restrict your activity without so much as a warning.

Second, lets say I want to join the daily User2User chat at 10:30 this morning. When I click on the link it gives me the option of signing in from different accounts. Again, I discovered that Facebook doesn't like this. Apparently they are afraid Andrew Hatchett is part of the Russian initiative to undermine our freedom in the USA so if I were to log in using my FB profile I can be restricted.

Third, (I am guilty of this.) I go to a trusted application and have forgotten my log in information. No worries. a prompt asks me "Wanna log in using Facebook?" And most times I do. Facebook no longer likes this and again may restrict your use for an arbitrary period of time.

They wouldn't tell me why they suddenly decided to restrict me. They just gave me these general guidelines and told me to figure it out.

I thought I'd share with this community for general knowledge and the hope that someone smarter than I knows more information

Sorry I have been MIA for quite some time.

Sorry I have been MIA for quite some time. I am guilty of not posting but sitting in the background and taking advantage of all the wisdom that continues to flow from this community. I'll do better, I promise. Don't throw me out!!!

On a related note: I tried getting into the morning chat today a couple of times. I couldnt respond to the people who greeted me. Must be my machine. I'll keep trying and try again this evening
