LOL! You're probably right John Brown...But I don't consider Linux to be an operating system suitable for the average consumer (i.e. way too techie for most people to bother with). I guess that is why I didn't think to add it when I did the original post.
I would go back and edit the choices if I could but...
Andrew Hatchett I am outraged. (Linux user here...) Even the poster of this poll is a Linux user, but knew not that he was (ChromeOS is a desktop sitting on top of a modified Linux kernel...) Linux is not the same as it was ten years ago - it is plug-and-play in most of its flavors these days. You can even run it off a CD or thumb drive without even having to install it on a hard drive.
Terry Leigh Britton I usually post the event about a week ahead of time - the post for this one was made on May 1, 2015. You can also check the Events category for upcoming scheduled community events. The spontaneous "Nightly Chats' will usually be just a post in the community and depends on whoever is setting them up. Sorry we missed you tonight.
Andrew Hatchett Gads - I didn't even THINK of checking for an event! OK, now I know. Still, I am not getting notifications to add it to my calendar with a yes or maybe, so add me to the list!
Windows 7 at home, Chrome (via Chromebook) and Android phone when traveling
ReplyDeleteno android? no Mac?
ReplyDeleteDarius Lahoutifard i\ I was thinking of Desk/laptops, not Phones and tablets :)
ReplyDeleteI thought iOS was what Mac used.
iOS is not for laptops, just iPhone and iPad.
ReplyDeleteAhhh- Thanks- didn't now that !
ReplyDeleteI'm not a Linux fanatic but they will be OUTRAGED that you've not considered including them.

ReplyDeleteWhere is Tech Thursday this evening? (...as long as I am busy complaining about things.)
ReplyDeleteSorry Terry Leigh Britton, It was a light night and then something came up and I had to close up early - about 20 minutes ago.
ReplyDeleteAh... how do we get notified of when these are happening? I was watching for a post, but none appeared.
