I was looking over the limitations, and was rather shocked how bad they were. Xsplit also has a free version also severely limited. OBS is so powerful, it is too bad it does not have a virtual camera feature for those wanting to use that for HOA's. ManyCam is the best value for doing that, for sure. (Xsplit is a monthly subscription, interestingly, so one can use the version they need and keep it within budget. Even with a year's use of the best Xsplit version, you are still only half the expense of WireCast Studio.)
Terry Leigh Britton I'm looking for background while on HOAs with green screen. When you say "virtual camera feature" is that what you're referring to or is that something else? I know ManyCam does that as well as Xsplit.
Sheila Hensley Yes, that's what I mean by "virtual camera" - it is an output that poses as a camera available to your HOA's. OBS does not have that feature, as its audience is primarily gamers who demand higher quality, better consistency and faster frame rates than an HOA can provide, so it is mostly for streaming services like YouTube Live Events, Twitch.tv, Hitbox.tv and others stream services. OBS is only recently being discovered by the online education community.
