Husky Chat
Here's a chat module that drops down from the Chrome bookmarks bar over any page. You can chat with your friends about the webpage or video. If on YouTube you can have both the YouTube chat and this private chat open at the same time.

Thanks Craig Long, unfortunately this module requires both parties to have the app installed so I don't see it being used as part of a replacement for the event page or YouTube chats comments.
