Thanks for sharing Andrew Hatchett! The Google+ Events arent ideal, because they aren't supported in the new Google+ or on iOS devices, but this will hopefully at least help some folks during the transition.
Hi, folks. Thanks, Peggy K - Am I to understand that iOS devices are NOT CAPABLE of enabling viewing of these events pages, and that through them they cannot view the injected YouTube Live production? Or, in what way are Google Events not supported? And, thanks, Craig Long for your added insights. This needs to be part of the conversation.
Also, Peggy K and Craig Long - what official word do we have that "Events" will still be a category in the options from Google+ old OR new versions after September 12th?
Roland Takaoka Google has specifically stated in their Transition Guide for Apps Admins that after September 12th Events will not be able to be scheduled thru the new G+ interface.
Roland Takaoka viewers will always be able to watch the broadcast on your YouTube channel. For your other questions: Events on iOS devices: support.google.com/plus/answer/6320397 I believe they can be viewed in WebView.
Thanks for the clues. Very helpful, everyone. Sounds like we are still under Google's thumb for when they will make the "Original Version" of Google+ no longer available. And even if they keep it as an option, they must not mettle with the "circles" and "notifications" functionality.
I wonder how much more confusing it will become by all the different ways people are making it out to be.This is like the third way I have seen it. Just show it the simplest way from YouTube and leave it at that. You guys are making it out more than what it needs to be aren't you ?
Arthur Morehead my choice would be just to share the link to the YouTube video. But some folks really like the Google+ Event format for promoting the HOA and taking questions and comments. So the instructions are for those folks.
Andrew Hatchett Yeah I know guys, I am just having a frustrating day with my leg issues and really didn't mean to sound like such an arshole. It just gets so frustrating some times. Thanks for the help guys you really do help a lot of people

ReplyDeleteTrue Peggy K, they aren't ideal...but better than nothing!

Andrew Hatchett plus.google.com/events works in the new version of G+ also.
ReplyDeleteThanks

Google+ has not announced that Events as a whole will be retired. That's only been announced for the special HOA Events.
I'd be shocked if Google+ retired Events completely without an announcement.
Peggy K I'd have been shocked two weeks ago...but after this latest YT monetization/AdSense unannounced change... just saying.
ReplyDeleteI think Peggy K has given all the information that I know of for now.
ReplyDeleteAndrew Hatchett Yeah, that was an unpleasant surprise.

ReplyDeleteArthur Morehead Not one size fits all - that's why options exist. Unless I know what my options are I can't tell which is best for me.
