Andrew Hatchett I had a Blogger account a long time ago and it was getting blog entries from my Wordpress blog and copying them. In short it was like Double content which Google will spnk you for Does Blogger still do that I wonder?
Arthur Morehead That article is 10 years old and I'm not about to start hosting my own Wordpress site.
Most of what is posted in User2User is time sensitive to a degree and not really worth preserving over the long term. The long term kind of stuff is in videos on my YouTube Channel so is safe- unless Google closes YT down as well.
I'm not chasing any more shiney toys. After April 2019 I'll be focusing on Zoom, Blogger, and YouTube. Between those most of the G+ User2User-LIVE functionality can be maintained for present U2Umembers and that is right now the only thing I'm concerned with.
Andrew Hatchett I am only posting this to inform others of what Blogger is and to inform others who are Wordpress users is all. It does not matter how old it is, I am just letting you know that I was hit with "like kind" content from Google and I did nothing to link the two together as un be known to me it was because of an RSS feed that connected the both of them and it was appearing I was trying to coral internet traffic in Googles eyes. Not trying to upset anyone, Like you, I am only passing on important information as a Wordpress user. If you post the same videos on Blogger & YouTube can you get whacked by Google and/or YouTube for "Like-Kind" content? Don't get upset I am just asking for my own reference.
Arthur Morehead I'm not upset - but if you read almost ANY terms of service for any social site there are similar terms be it Google, Ancestry, Facebook, LinkedIn, Wordpress.com (as opposed to Wordpress.org) or whatever. It is there for legal reasons so that they can be called a service rather than a carrier which would place them under a different set of more restrictive FCC rules
As to sharing YT videos to Blogger... YT even provides a specific button to share directly to Blogger so I'm not that worried about it.
Andrew Hatchett Thats cool, did not know the dif between a carrier and a service. Did not know about a "button" t from YT to Blogger either, Learn something new everyday.

ReplyDeleteSeems so. You might also want to add it to your Blogger Profile so it can be seen thereafter this shuts down.

ReplyDeleteI've posted an announcement about your blog over on our Blogger site so that people can add it to their Reading List

ReplyDeleteI've no idea, but the way to prevent that is make sure the wordpress site and blogger site aren't connected in any way. :)

ReplyDeleteArthur Morehead
