I did a test HOA (using webinarjam) and noticed that it seemed someone had watched. I only shared the link with two other people. How do I make sure the HOA is private?
Nina Amir have you contacted Webinar Jam? Seems that is something they would be able to answer and would want to know about if you expected it to be private as you stated.
Nina Amir Webinarjam used to have an option to make the HOA "unlisted" when creating the Webinarjam (WJ) event (it still might?). This option doesn't make it private but no one can find it unless they have a link. Any one with a link can still share it though. And yes you have to go into your G+ and delete the hangout post if it is public. Another way to make it unlisted is by going into your associated Youtube channel and making the default "unlisted" this allows only people with a link to view and it shouldn't appear on your G+ publically (view your profile as "public"). If you are using WJ to capture emails and doing webinar type of events then do the unlisted default route. (Please double check it doesn't appear in your G+ stream -as Google changes things often). If you are just using WJ to host private recorded hangouts - then start the HOA from your Youtube account under live events and make it "private" from the start and only add the email of the people you want to be able to watch. Note this is not a detailed method of how to make a HOA private - just the highlights :)
Yes, Mark Burns, you can still make the Youtube recording unlisted/private, and I think that is what you are referring to. That does work. It's the deletion of posts on Google+ that has to happen, I think, to make sure no one watches as you are live. I think that is why we were "watched."
Nina Amir It was my understanding that Webinarjam was unable to do private HOAs. I don't use it myself so am unfamiliar with the product.

ReplyDeleteI just looked...just need to deleted the announcements from Google+...two of them, one when I sign on and one when I hit "live." Make sense?
