Quick question, well actually 2 quick questions. when creating a hangout I post to "public" if I want the comment tracker to work during the hangout. Should I invite my circles as well as public? Question 2. How do I share a link if I want to open my green room to anyone prior to beginning the hangout? Thank you in advance
How do you invite to the greenroom?
ReplyDeleteJohn Jurkiewicz on question number one: You can invite to anyone you like on the initial invite, BUT in order you use comment tracker YOU MUST invite the PUBLIC.
ReplyDeleteNow I have seen if you try to invite a circle that includes 100 people it may not allow you to. It thinks you are spamming.
So in summation I would say on the initial creation of an Event or a SHOAE always invite the Public and a Community that you would like the Event to show up in the communities Events.
Question 2: I would never give the link to the hangout prior to starting. If you do and they get in first, they are now the HOst. A REAL mess on your hands. Sooooooo.
1 hour before or 30 minutes before get in the green room yourself. Then invite folks using the invite button at the top of the hangout window.
If you would like to hangout and discuss this morning, ping me and we can chat about it.
thank you Rayne Dowell
ReplyDeleteRayne Dowell as a precaution I always give the message to folks to invite at least the public. You can invite whoever you like. It may stop you sometimes if you invite a circle with over 50 people because it thinks you are spamming. Circles are weird and notifications are too. So strange things happen with these things
ReplyDeleteNina Amir you can invite folks to the Gren Room by:
ReplyDelete1) Invite button up next to (mute, video mute, gear, etc.)
2) Copy the URL and send it to the person (via email, ping, chat)
Michael Daniels the reason I asked about the green room issue is because I was a guest on a hang out Friday where the host opened the green room to the public prior to HOA
ReplyDeleteJohn Jurkiewicz Oh I get it! That is a BIG no,no . I know of people that have done this in the past. They thought, let me hand out the link and let whoever wants in come and join the conversation. Well, they had copyright issues and other problems and so they never did that again.
ReplyDeleteYou have to be cautious when giving out that link.
Which is kind of nice about Business hangouts. You don't ever have to give out a link. You just raise folks as participants (filmstrip folks) and lower them back as viewers.
