Barbara Quick Yes, fluctuations were cause by TV monitor. I was mainly worried that light levels would unacceptably low but while they could be better they appear to meet the needed minimum level.
The lighting was adequate in that yes we can see you fine, but I do see alternating blue and pink casts to the overall color (at least watching it on my monitor). I'm guessing due to the monitor light fluctuations Barbara Quick mentioned. Thanks for sharing your tests with us, Andrew Hatchett, we all benefit from it :)
Meilani MacDonald Thanks for your input. It was indeed fluctuations from the TV that cause both lighting and color changes. Guess I'll have to find a channel that has a still image or something if I'm going to use this method! :)
Barbara Quick Not without the bulb from the clamp light shining directly into my eyes from 2-3ft. away .
I had a setup but had a shadeless bulb with slim piece of cardboard covering just the bulb and It caused headaches so I'm trying to get away from that.
I have a cheap, bullet-shaped desk lamp, tucked behind my monitor, plus some light from windows in the daytime, which seems to work pretty well. In fact Roland Takaoka and Karen V Chin had me move my desk lamp back further and tuck it further behind my monitor as they felt it was too bright. lol
LOL! Barbara Quick I wish I had room on my desk for one of those - but with a 27"TV, 24" monitor, cable box, 7port powered hub, 2 cheomebooks and a Pixel 2, and two keyboards I can barely fit a cup of coffee on mine!
LOL! Andrew Hatchett, it sounds like you do have a FULL desk!! I just have my monitor, the desk lamp, my laptop that needs a new battery, and a BIG bunch of papers (that I do need to sort) lol.
Andrew Hatchett, there was a lot of fluctuation in your lighting. I assume it had to do with picture changes on some of your monitors.

ReplyDeleteAndrew Hatchett, would you have enough light if you don't use your TV?
