Does anyone know how to "cast" a screen via Chromecast without using a browser?

Does anyone know how to "cast" a screen via Chromecast  without using a browser? I figured out how to cast my Android screen,  which is awesome, but not my laptop screen. This is a Level IV Non-Emergency. :)

  1. It was my understanding that there was some sort of icon on the browser tabs that could be cast.

  2. Yes, there is an icon for casting a browser, which is great, but I'm also looking to cast things like spreadsheets, PowerPoint, etc., It does let me cast any screen from my smartphone, though.

  3. Mark Barrus I don't believe you can send windows to your chromecast. Now if your laptop were running "chromium"....

  4. Mark Barrus apparantly some progress has been made since I first looked into this. Check out this article:

It refers to an "experimental" feature for casting your computer desktop.
