I created an unlisted HOA for my 3 coaching clients.

I created an unlisted HOA for my 3 coaching clients. I included just them when I created it. Do I need to send them a link right before I begin or can they just join with the link they received upon invite? I see that I can add them to the filmstrip...but that's where I'm wondering if I need a new link to do that.

  1. Nina Amir If it is a SHOAE you send invitations to VIEW when you set up. After you hit the blue "Start Hangout" button and actually get into the 'green room' THEN you can click on the invite icon in the top middle [little man with + sign] to invite people into the filmstrip.

  3. Andrew Hatchett, I got the
HOA (not sure what SHOAE stands for) going with no problem. I sent out invites before...when I created it. I sent them out again just before...no one came and joined the green room. So...I started the show. I also sent new invites right from the show page..and from inside the HOA as you mentioned above. Only one of the three people managed to "get in." The others could see and hear, but they couldn't "enter." What did I or they do wrong? :~(

  4. Nina Amir  SHOAE= Scheduled Hang Out On Air Event, one of the ways a person can set up a HOA. Invites into the filmstrip should not, imho, be sent to anyone until the host started the HOA and are in the green room.
As I'm unclear exactly which method was used to set up your HOA, it is a bit hard to say what went wrong or which end the problem was on.

  5. Well, one person got in no problem.... And I set it up just as the video that was shared with me recommended.

  6. Nina Amir Being in each others G+ circles helps then they will get a G+ notification in many places.  You can also just copy the URL at the very top of the Hangouts video window (not the Event page) and send it to them.
