Andrew Hatchett If i post something to my circles, and xyz circle, does the person get it twice? Or if they are in more than one circle and I send it to both circles, do they get it twice?
Myste Lyn No they won't get it twice. If, however, you post to two different communities and a person belongs to both then they will see the post twice if they go to the community to read the posts. Public posts appear in a person's Main Stream.
It is also good to understand that sharing something to a circle doesn't ensure that those people are all going to see it (unless you use the dreaded notification). It just makes your post available to those people to see in their stream.
The circle really filters your incoming content. If you put people in a circle, you can look at the content from just those people. That doesn't work in reverse. You can limit a post to just the people in one of your circles by "sharing" to that circle alone, but only the people in that circle that ALSO have you circled will see the post.
If you make a post public, it means that anyone that has you circled could see it (or, anyone that searches for a hashtag that you use).
