Question to you all and Andrew Hatchett : I do dog training hangouts and so far everyone has had a gmail account.
What's the easiest way to get someone in a Hangout started on the YouTube side "if" they don't have a gmail account?
I'm afraid they may not want to go to the trouble to set up a profile.
Thanks for any feedback!
Here is my thoughts:
ReplyDeleteFolks sign up for pintrest, facebook, twitter, skype account, their personal bank, billing for a utility bill, Home Depot, Sears, etc. etc. It is the way of the world. If you want to use video calling anywhere, you have to set up an account. If you want to join a webinar, you have to sign up to be a part of it.
So my thought is to use this very cool tool, they have to sign up.
I would find out if they have a gmail account or a YouTube account.
If they do, they are over half way there.
If you want to use video calling anywhere, you have to set up an account.
It is the way of the world.
LOL! Michael Daniels you said it much more diplomatically than I ever could! ;)
ReplyDeleteOh Jim Burwell I hope I did not sound "snotty", that was not my intention.
ReplyDeleteIf they want to hangout they need the app.
You can use business hangouts then they don't have to sign in to G+. But they can ONLY CHAT. No video.
Michael Daniels I hope my comment didn't lead you or Jim Burwell to think I thought it was "snotty", that wasn't my intent at all!
ReplyDeleteMichael Daniels Jim forgot to mention that this is one of our private YouTube dog training sessions. It is Not a HOA. Since he copies the link and emails it to them I do not believe the client must have a gmail address or a G+ profile. Right?
ReplyDeleteLeila Martin I do not know that for a fact.
ReplyDeleteThe hangout process must have an account associated with it.
I would love to test this.
Anyone up for it?
You have to have an account to use a hangout, ANY HANGOUT.
ReplyDeletegot it.
ReplyDeleteCraig Long I just shared that post! This is a great idea! The fact that it works on Google Chrome, Firefox, and Opera for the other caller (even though the call must be initiated from Firefox) is dyn-o-mite, and the additional fact it has no account requirements opens the video chat world up to those NOT using the Googlesphere ... yet. :-)
ReplyDeleteTerry Leigh Britton Yeah I think it's a great thing for those who want to connect with you who don't have Hangouts. I wonder if you can bring them into a Hangout or HOA by screensharing the Chrome window or other browser window. Not sure if you can have Hangouts and another video window running simultaneously. Most people have computer access but not Hangouts.
ReplyDeleteCraig Long You just gave me another thing to try with my capture card and second computer! :-)
ReplyDeleteTerry Leigh Britton I was hoping you would say that. I only have one computer so I can't test that.
