For some reason, I am STRUGGLING with BHOA. It should be SIMPLE.

For some reason, I am STRUGGLING with BHOA.  It should be SIMPLE. I just did a test with a friend.  He was in as a viewer, but I could not promote him to participant.  Under his gear icon the only option was to eject him.  What am I doing wrong

    Judi McDowell How was he logged in?
    With G+?
    With Facebook?
    With Linkedin?

    A Google account is needed before a person can be promoted to a participant.

    You say he could not get in.  Did he get the invite?  If he was typing while you sent the invite, he could have missed it.  Also, for him to get in he has to allow and give permissions/authorizations,
