Andrew Hatchett how are you generating this list? Are these HoA's that you have been invited to? I am asking because, my group has been trying to figure out the right approach to growing our reach.
I have always felt that inviting all of our followers to every hangout (sometimes 3-4 per week) would risk overwhelming them.
We were told early on that Google was going to make a cool tool for locating HoA's to watch. The current tool gives just as much weight to the "trolls looking for lols" as our shows (which we go to pretty significant effort to prepare for and present).
Matthew Miller The way I do it is: 1). Ask all members of my community that will be hosting a HOA or appearing as a guest on a HOA to either invite me or share the event into the community under the "Member Hoasted HOA" category.
2). I reply yes or maybe to get it listed as an event on my calendar and then each morning I got to G+ and click on Events in the sidebar so I get a page of little pictures of that day's events - then I take a screen shot of that and edit it so only events for that day show and then pasted the edited image in a post in the User2User Community.
Interesting. That is a way for you to keep up with the hangouts that you know about (and it is appreciated by me for exposure to this group...whatever that is worth), but I am wondering how we gain new folks through discovery....
One good way is to join other beer based communities here on Google ( there are over 180) and start engaging people there on whatever they are talking about and eventually they learn about you and your community. It takes time. If you join a new community and your 1st post is a "Hey! Come over to my community!" type of thing, it can be very off-putting to some people.
Oh..I don't have a problem with that, my community is far and away the leader in the craft beer community space. We keep it moderated, and that keeps it going. My trouble is that, I feel that we are not introducing our show to people that wouldn't come looking for it. (the thought process in my head is of the channel surfer that doesn't know about the craft beer presence on G+). There are nights, that I want to just watch HoA's that have nothing to do with my current hobbies. I want to discover. On YouTube, you float from one subject to another. On HoA's you have to know what you want to look for....it seems....

I am just trying to understand it better.
