Sunsetting the Google+ Photos Chrome app.
It seems that in light of the recent Google Photos launch, the Google+ Photos app for Chrome will be shut down on July 21, 2015. The following information is from the help center announcement.
What's changing
The Google+ Photos app won’t work anymore. Any photos that you've uploaded with the app are safe and won't be deleted. You can see the photos you previously uploaded at photos.google.com.
You won't be able to view photos or upload new ones with the app after July 21, 2015. View and upload photos using photos.google.com instead.
You can upload new photos or see the photos you previously uploaded at photos.google.com. You won’t be able to view your photos offline at this time.
If you're on a Chromebook, you can also upload your photos to Google Drive with Cloud Backup.
What isn't changing
Google+ Photos isn't going away. We're launching Google Photos to give you an even better way to manage your photos online.

YouTube Will Now Connect to Google Shopping for a Seamless Experience From View to Purchase
This is really big news for eCommerce, and will be a powerful indicator of the role visual marketing plays in the purchase process.
Imagine some possibilities:
1. Watching an unboxing of a new tech gadget and being able to buy it through your Google account with a single click.
2. Viewing a how-to video for a household DIY project and ordering all the materials needed as they display on your screen?
3. Watching the new music video from your favorite musician, and clicking a button to upload their new album to your Google Play account.
This is a big customer-centric advancement that will not be at all easy for competitors to copy.

"The video site will now be connected to the technology which powers Google Shopping which will enable advertisers to display links to individual products."

The blog will have both links and embedded videos of member public videos for the previous seven days that have been uploaded to Youtube.
Videos older than seven days will have only the links to the YouTube video.
This was done as a compromise to reduce the page loading time. There are presently an average of 12-15 videos per day being uploaded. To maintain older embedded videos slows the page loading to an unacceptable degree.
There will be no comments allowed on the blog itself. Those should be left on the individual YouTube videos for the creators to see.
The link below will take you to a sneak peak of what is intended.
Your thoughts and comments are welcomed.

What's better than watching a Google I/O live stream video? Talking about what's being announced with fellow geeks!
Following the success of the last couple of years, the Google+ and reddit Chrome OS communities will be jointly hosting a chat room on IRC for all our fellow Chrome OS enthusiasts. Think of it as one big party, and you're all invited.
We've picked IRC because it is a neutral platform that is better suited for real-time discussion than either Google+ or reddit truly is. It's also super easy to use, doesn't require the creation of new accounts, and will work on Chrome devices with ease.
Speaking of the "ease" aspect, if you're new to IRC we've compiled a getting started document that offers you the choice of installing a Chrome Packaged App, or connecting directly from a browser tab using a web version. Either way, your Chrome device will be a portal to the party.
Feel free to ask any questions you may have in this thread.

Today we announced we're extending the restriction on non-web-store extensions to more Chrome channels.

I've read a number of grouchy posts on e.g. Reddit claiming this is all about trying to control what extensions users use, in particular because the web store doesn't allow things like Youtube downloaders.
The sad truth is that malicious extensions mucking with Chrome are by far the biggest problem we deal with today. A HUGE fraction of Chrome users are infected with such things (or worse), and it results in an enormous number of problems, many of which get reported to us as bugs and help center requests, many of which don't. (It was amusing that on the same Reddit forum people were whining about this were multiple other top-level posts on the same page begging for help with Chrome-targeting malware.)
To some degree, fighting malware is an arms race, and we won't be able to perfectly win. But our previous restrictions here were able, alone, to reduce the number of support requests we got for such issues by 75%. That's enormous. Think about the magnitude of the number that represents, when you consider that Chrome has hundreds of millions of users.
So no -- this has NOTHING to do with trying to prevent Youtube downloaders or whatever. We've been forced to this by bad actors, and we're doing it because we think it's in the best interest of our users. I'm sorry that there are some people inconvenienced by this. But at least I want them to understand that our motives here are what we say they are; there's nothing ulterior going on.

Struggle of Including Video with Audio in Hangouts on Air
Hi, folks... just a demo of how to use XSplit Broadcaster 's "Audio Preview" feature, coupled with Wirecast's Virtual Microphone, to stream Video with Audio in a Hangout on Air.
I hope that one day XSplit will build in its own Virtual Microphone tool, but until that comes, this will do the job. I know I know: it forces you to use competing products, why not just use Wirecast? I'm more comfortable using XSplit and know how to make it do most of what I'd ask it to do.

1) Anyone else having trouble getting Comment Tracker (green "double bubble") to load? I had to go out and come in again several times to get it to work; same with the Hangout Toolbox (I haven't even tried the new HO Toolbox: anyone tried that, yet? Experiences? Who has it?).
2) With the Comment Tracker (green "double bubble"), I don't see the symbol we're supposed to click on that loads the comments next to the Youtube portion any longer (I used to see it there and click on it so those comments would load, same as for the G+ Event page; now I only see those "refresh" arrows next to the G+ comments when I put in the Source. Ideas? I didn't have any comments from participants today or last time from Youtube, but if I had, I bet I wouldn't have seen them. True?
3) Then, something crashed my computer and glitched me out of the rest of my HOA today with about 10 minutes left. Bummer. I use Apache Open Office and it also conked out, so I de-installed that an re-installed it. Maybe that will fix it. That has happened before (Open Office got buggy last fall and kept crashing my computer). The computer got the BSD and said "System Thread Error." So helpful, that message.

The information about inclusion of an Ethnert port and a USB 3.0 port have since proved to be in error and neither are included in the production models of the Asus C201.

Everybody talk about fitness, exercising, beauty and physical health. The body seems to be important to us - and fashionable. We think we are taking care of it - by dressing it in constrictive clothes or by making it “work out” with exercises which our mind believes that they are good for us. Lawrence Gold began to explore the interrelation of spiritual practice and personal development around 1968, at age 16, with himself as the laboratory. He has explored many different approaches to different aspects of the one-being, what we may call "self" or "body", the inner and outer of our existence that constitute "soma", the incarnated self.

I'm having trouble loading the Comment Tracker App.
I'm having trouble loading the Comment Tracker App. It has worked valiantly for weeks, but does not want to accommodate me in my own OR OTHER'S hangouts.
Can anyone give me a clue?
I've restarted my Windows 7...
I've reopened Chrome, which is up to date...
Tried to load the App from a hangout on air from various inside link options...
Just tells me, "There was an error loading your app!"
"This app did not load because there appears to b something wrong with it."
Anyone, please advise. Thank you in advance.

Circle Sharing has been Officially discontinued
If you look at your Circles, you will see that the Share icon is now missing - just Edit and Delete remain. As of yesterday, G+ discontinued this feature - no reason given so far. Probably won't have a major impact on Communities or Moderation, but it will be harder for Owner/Mods to share circles with each other to invite those circles to similar or cross-promoted Communities, or to give members an easy way to Follow curated circles of people.
May affect a few Communities (and Pages) whose entire premise was sharing circles, too.

Hi Everyone, it was an honor for me to wake up this morning and find I had been accepted into this community.
Hi Everyone, it was an honor for me to wake up this morning and find I had been accepted into this community.
I have been on Google+ for about five months now and have been welcomed with open arms. I have connected with quite a few people that have not only been helpful in my beginning to learn the ropes, but also seem eager to see me find my niche and succeed. Every one of those people is a member of this community, therefore my decision to be a part of a community whose only agenda is to help people was a no brainer.
I have learned so much from members here already, but also realize in the ever expanding Googleverse there will always be new things and a learning curve. I do hope to make HOA's a part of my plan soon and know there is no better group of combined minds then right here in the User2User Community. I hope to learn much from you all and look forward to one day being able to pay it forward to the next generation of newbies like myself.

New Problem: When I am logged in as my G+ profile everything is loading slow and i mean slow.
New Problem: When I am logged in as my G+ profile everything is loading slow and i mean slow. I get the blue spinning ball next to my curser etc.
I disabled most of my extensions, had my computer guy do a remote scan of my computer and his advice is to start a new profile NOT!!!
I was on a Hangout Video Call the other day doing a slide share and the other person was saying that my computer was so slow and things were not loading. I have a really fast computer!
Anyone else ever have an issue with their Google profile creating these kinds of problems of slow loading.

I have a webinar for a number of clients happening today at 4 PM. I normally use GoToMeeting. Works well. I've really wanted to force myself to learn and use HaA because I use Google Apps all the time for everything else. In fact my webinar is about using Google Drive.
Here is my dilemma.
I created an HoA event and invited a number of clients.
1. Yet when I do a few practice rounds (test) it seems confusing for the end user.
2. I had an employee try it out. I clicked to start the Broadcast and waited for him to join. He could not join until I started recording.
3. Also it wanted me to invite people to join, when I already did this in my initial invitation. These seemed confusing to end user.
4. When my employee final did see me (once I went "on air) he said there was a real delay when viewing my screen. I had just tested GoToMeeting a few minutes before this and the screen share was perfect. Most of the time I've tried HOA, there is a delay for sharing a screen. I've done several test with a hardwired Internet connect and there is still a delay. If someone pops into an HoA, they are delayed and not seeing me live.
So I guess my question is...1) how can I make sure it is easy for people to join my meeting on Thursday when it is time and 2) How can I make sure there is no delay in showing my screen. 3) How do folks joining the call show their faces (video). 4) When creating the time, for a 45 minute webinar, it creates a 4 hour and 45 minute duration. I've tried a dozen times to make the webinar 45 minutes.
