It failed miserably: My "I'm not a robot" CAPTCHA prompt kept expiring every 90 sec. This happened in both Chrome and Forefox. I was also presented with a photo-selection verification a couple of times, but it made no difference. Have you heard of that before?

We are reaching out to people who may have customized their Google Voice incoming call rules based on Google+ Circles. In light of the upcoming changes to Google+ and in the interests of our adopters, we will be removing call routing rules based on Google+ Circles on March 4 2019. From our analysis it appears that users in your domain have created custom call routing rules based on Google+ Circles.
What does this mean for my organization?
After March 2019, incoming calls to Google Voice phone numbers used by members of your organization will not follow any settings they may have had for callers in Google+ Circles. All other call routing rules, such as those based on members’ Google Contacts, will remain intact.
What actions do I need to take?
We recommend reaching out to the affected users and informing them of this update. Google Voice is not currently included in the core services for support and all configuration changes must be made by the users themselves.

While YouTube and Google+ have been largely separated since 2016, there were a few remaining Google+ linked features that will stop working this month.
* If you shared a private video with a Google+ Circle, people in that Circle will no longer be able to view the video
* You will no longer be able to add a channel icon or cover art in the YouTube mobile app
* Google+ profile and page links will be removed from YouTube channel About tab and channel header
* If you are using a pre-September 2016 version of the YouTube mobile app, you will no longer be able to read or post comments

I know a bunch of you have been playing with Blogger, so this may be of interest.
If you aren't using Google+ Comments or a Google+ Profile for your Blogger account, these changes shouldn't affect your blog.
If you are using Google+ Comments, they are going to disappear on Monday :(

Today Blogger announced they would begin removing Google+ integrations Monday, February 4th. Note that if you do not use Google+ Comments or a Google+ Profile for your Blogger blog, you won't see much difference. Your blog posts and Blogger Comments won't be affected.
* Blogs will be switched from Google+ Comments to Blogger Comments on February 4th .
Google+ Comments cannot be migrated to Blogger Comments and they are not included in the Google Takeout archive or backup files for your Blogger account. Enjoy them now while you can.
* Google+ widgets will be removed from Blogger blog Layouts on February 4th
This includes Google+ Followers, Google+ +1 and G+ buttons, and the Google+ Badge.
If you manually added Google+ buttons or badges, or you are using a 3rd party template, you may need to remove those manually. They will stop displaying on March 7th when the Google+ API shuts down.
* Blogger will no longer support Google+ Profiles starting in March
If you use a Google+ Profile for Blogger, you will be prompted to create your Blogger profile the first time you sign in after the change.

Google appears to have made another unannounced change concerning the size of a Google Group

From the original topic on Google Groups: «After speaking with Google support, it appears that Google has changed the rules on large groups (500-1000 users) to implement a deliberate decision (that has apparently not yet been announced) to not support large groups. The change is to simply block messages based on some unspecified criteria, and the rejection message cites spam but is not actually spam related (and the messages do not appear in a spam folder where we could try to recover them, they are just deleted), and the rejection message suggests making the group moderated (but the group is already moderated). Google support wasn't entirely clear on the details, but said that Google will be posting these changes at some point in the future on their site.
Google's suggestion was either:
- remove enough users to bring the group under 500-750 users (it's unclear how we'd do that)
- move the list to a new platform»

Thanks to Andrew Hatchett I was alerted to the Zoom Webinar yesterday which was about the new features implemented on the latest version just released. I joined the webinar mostly out of curiosity. As some of you might recall I have been unable to use Zoom for my live webcasts because it lacked the ability to have a director stop someone else's screenshare and switch to another participant in the session. I made a request about a year ago for this feature and in November they said it was being looked at for a future release. Boy was I shocked to see this new ability pop up on the feature list during the webinar yesterday!
So now I will have to gather a few folks together to test this out. If it works as described I am a happy camper and will seriously consider moving my platform from HOAs to Zoom.
I've linked the entire feature list below which is quite substantial.

I have taken the Content of this Google+ Community and have created a Blog which has the Content of this Community.
Here is a link to it -- https://cousinrusscommunity.blogspot.com/ -- I will probably continue to cross post Blog posts from https://ftmuser.blogspot.com. I wanted a way for folks to ask questions, so there is a Tab on the Blog for you to do that, if you wish.
When a question is asked, I will then create a Blog post with that question and an answer, but would encourage others to comment on that specific blog post. IF I use that question for my Family Tree Maker Blog, I will provide the question and a link to the specific blog with an answer.
The comments are moderated and will not be immediately published. Once a question has been handled, that question will be removed of that tab.
As before, this blog, as was this community, can go beyond the Family Tree Maker program.
Also, please use the LABEL list down the left column, as I have tried to put the posts in this community into appropriate Labels.
Don't forget the Search field in the upper Left column.

I wanted reach out to those of you that helped make this happen. And also I want to say to Andrew Hatchett ..... Thank you for doing this initiative. I really had no desire to be monetized but Andrew took on the challenge to make it happen. And for that I thank you sir.

Moderators has been a wonderful community to develop and grow these past months, but it is now time for its journey to come to an end. We started this community to create a space for the community owners and moderators on Google+ to discuss common issues and collaborate. It has been so rewarding to see these discussions take place in Moderators, and we would like to thank each and every one of you for contributing to this community!
Moderators will be made inactive this Thursday, Jan 17. No new members will be accepted into our community and no new posts will be shared. All existing members will be marked as limited, which will allow you to access previous posts and conduct your data takeouts. While the community will remain visible to members, all new posts will be held for review and will not be published.

Google shut down the Google+ Moderators Community six weeks ago and never bothered to tell anyone
I've been trying to reach out to G+ Communities especially over the course of the shutdown, a process I'd found frustrating. There are few mechanisms for directly contacting community moderators (unlike, say Reddits "message moderators" feature), and there are few forums for G+ Community owners and moderators to get and exchange information.
One of those is the Google+ Moderators community itself, the official Google channel for mods.
I've been posting and commenting there occasionally over the course of the shutdown particularly my statistical analyses of Community size and activity. There'd been little if any response.
I thought it was simply that moderators on Google+ are apathetic. It's not that.
Six weeks ago, without informing anyone, Google effectively shut down the forum. Posts are "HfR", held for review, and unless they're approved by a moderator, they won't appear for other users. The submitter does see their posts in the community and has no indication that the post has not been submitted.
You can confirm this by viewing the community from an Incognito / unauthenticated session. Doing that just now, I realised that the forum had seen no new activity since December 10, 2018.
The two screenshots here show this. The two-column view with the visible "Sign In" button at top right, shows an Incognito view, with the most recent posts being dated 6 weeks ago. The three-column view is what I see logged in as "Edward Morbius", with several posts I've submitted in the weeks since then. I can see those. Nobody else can.

This is not only extremely disrespectful and poor business practice, but it's straight up low class.
Google appear to be falling apart.
The unofficial G+ Owners and Moderators Community (https://plus.google.com/communities/115287855840632692408) does seem to be reliably available presently.
In other news: You cannot rely on the fact that posts to Google+ will be visible to other users, most especially not in Google's own Communities and spaces. Google are systematically dismantling the ability for users themselves to be informed on Google+.
If you're not using an off-Google channel for information already, start doing so NOW.
Again: there is a subreddit available at https://reddit.com/r/plexodus, devoted to the G+ exodus, run by me. You're strongly encouraged to use this. There are also /r/googleplus and /r/google, run by others, or other communities can be created. Please join one or more of these.
